How Copy Head Works: Rules, Controls, and Payouts

The official website of vcity. This guide explains the exact mechanics of the Copy Head demo, an independent simulation of a fair binary word game. It is not a commercial casino product. The game uses eight fair binary symbols (0 or 1) and calculates scores based on matching substrings within the consumed prefix. The demo provides a 96% expected gross return across three distinct scoring modes, with exact mathematical expectations defined by the contract.

Core Scanning Rules and Scoring

The game generates a sequence of eight binary symbols. The scoring process scans left to right. At each unread position, the algorithm finds the longest matching substring contained wholly within the already consumed prefix.

  • Copy Token: If the matching substring length is at least two, it is counted as a copy token.
  • Literal: If the length is less than two, one literal is consumed.
  • Raw Score: Calculated as the total length of all copied symbols minus one for each copy token.

The score is applied to a single whole captured stake. The same raw score can be achieved through different symbol sequences, as demonstrated by the following identical raw scores of 4:

Ordered SymbolsRaw Score
[0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0]4
[1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1]4
[0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 1]4

Scoring Modes and Gross Payout Formula

There are three distinct scoring modes, each separately normalized over all 256 equally likely binary words to achieve an expected gross return of 96%. The mode selected determines the power applied to the raw score.

Mode PowerExact Mean
Power 12.1015625
Power 24.9140625
Power 312.4609375

The gross payout is calculated using the following exact formula:

Gross = 0.96 × captured whole stake × raw^(selected mode + 1) / mean[selected mode]

It is important to note that higher powers do not change which words result in a zero score; they only scale the payout for non-zero scores. The expected gross return is 96%, which is a long-term mathematical average and not a guaranteed net profit for any single session.

The formula uses mode index 0, 1 or 2 for Score, Squared or Cubed respectively; the exponent is therefore 1, 2 or 3.

Controls and Auto-Play Mechanics

The demo offers specific controls for managing gameplay flow:

  • Auto10: Queues up to ten captured draws automatically.
  • Stop: Cancels future draws in the queue but allows the current draw to settle.
  • Sound: Remains available and active even during settlement phases.

Controls for stake, mode selection, and refill are locked while a draw is active and remain locked through the entire auto queue. Each settlement takes 480ms. There is no early bank or ability to exit a settled round early.

Wallet, Persistence, and Restoration

The demo wallet operates independently of any external account system:

  • Initial Balance: 1000 virtual coins.
  • Manual Restoration: If the balance is idle and below 10, you can manually restore it. This action sets the balance to exactly 1000.
  • Fractional Carry: Fractional values persist across settlement, refill, and reload events.
  • Reload Behavior: Reloading the page ends an unfinished draw without refund or resume capability.

Settled balances persist locally, including zero balances. Fractional carry is preserved unless explicitly reset by a manual restoration.

Mathematical Evidence and Simulation

Simulation measurements support the mathematical model but are not the law itself. The following table shows exact expected returns versus measured returns from 1,000,000 rounds per mode:

ModeExact Gross RTPMeasured RTP
Power 10.9695.97818765934089
Power 20.9695.93182992690092
Power 30.9696.0172301654321

The measured values are sample observations and may vary slightly from the exact 0.96 (96%) expected gross return.

Privacy, Storage, and Audience

This guide targets an 18+ audience as a policy standard, not as a claim of local legal age or implemented age gating. Personal data processing is not established by the demo's lack of account controls.

  • Storage: The demo uses browser localStorage for settled balance and fractional carry. This does not guarantee anonymity or exclude other processing.
  • Third Parties: The template declares a Google Fonts stylesheet; this is not an exhaustive list of requests.
  • Account/Flow: There is no demo account flow or payment flow. Virtual coins have no cash value.

Clearing cached files may leave local storage intact. Responsible use is optional and not clinically validated by the demo.

Frequently asked questions

Does the scoring mode affect which words score zero?

No. Powers one, two, and three do not alter which raw scores are zero. They only change the magnitude of the payout for non-zero scores.

What happens if I reload the page during a draw?

Reloading ends an unfinished draw without refund or resume capability. The balance settles as it was at the moment of reload, and any fractional carry is preserved.

How do I restore my balance?

You can manually restore your balance when it is idle and below 10. This action sets the balance to exactly 1000 and preserves fractional carry.
